A Rainbow Over Sheffield
A new play written and directed by David Wrightam
Set in a run down flat in Sheffield, the play will have the audience laughing one minute and crying the next. Rusty is a prostitute, and she and her friend Mavis run a business from their flat. This mainly involves dressing up to re-enact scenes from famous films for kinky pensioners.
Rusty dreams of breaking away and starting a new life, but breaking away from her violent pimp will take some doing. A visit from her young sister triggers a series of events that lead her to see a flicker of light in the tunnel, and a chance for a new life. But life is cruel, and rainbows don’t last forever. A cruel turn of events puts her in a position where she must … (now that
would be telling!)
Performed at The Caxton Theatre, Cleethorpe Road Grimsby
Opens Saturday 5 September through to Saturday 12 September 2026
TICKETS FROM: The Caxton Theatre event tickets from TicketSource.

Everyday Histories Look-Up Tour – Central Cleethorpes
Friday 11 September to Sunday 20 September 2026
Look Up! explore heritage and find hidden gems in Cleethorpes’ town centre!
This self-guided Look Up! Tour is about looking beyond the ground floors of our buildings because these are less likely to have been altered over the decades. So, by looking at their original styling we can explore the history of buildings, their stories and very often, the artistry and embellishments by early craftsmen. But please be careful when ‘looking up’ – you may find you need to take extra care when walking.
This Guide starts at Cleethorpes current railway station as if you arrived at the station and takes you around the town in a clockwise direction ending at the original station buildings alongside Platform 1.
